Touchseen combines purpose-built IoT hardware, cellular connectivity, and adaptive machine learning - all without a single camera or microphone.
01 — Hardware
Base device (HUB) and wearables.
The Touchseen Base device (HUB) measures 70 × 70 × 21 mm, weighs 200 g, and runs for up to one month on a single USB-C charge. It connects to the cloud over LTE-M and pairs with optional wearable accessories - a bracelet and a key tag - over Bluetooth. Presence sensors include an ambient light sensor that detects rapid changes in ambient light, a help button that triggers a push notification in under two minutes (real-time delivery under development), and an IR sensor that detects activity up to 4 metres away (under development). Environmental sensors cover temperature, air quality detecting carbon monoxide, alcohols, and smoke (under development), and humidity (under development).
02 — Connectivity
From sensor to screen
Small wearable accessories - a bracelet or a key tag - can optionally be paired with the Touchseen base device over Bluetooth LE. The base device aggregates their signals alongside its own environmental and activity sensors, then pushes all data to the Touchseen Cloud API over a mobile network. The family mobile app and the institutional web dashboard both connect to the cloud via REST - no home Wi-Fi required anywhere in the chain.
03 — Cloud API
Alert logic and delivery
Sensor data is received by the Touchseen Cloud API, where configurable alert rules evaluate every reading against per-device thresholds - inactivity duration, temperature range, humidity, and more. When a threshold is crossed, the backend instantly dispatches push notifications to the family mobile app and triggers alerts on the institutional web dashboard. Alert routing is configurable per device. Raw sensor readings are evaluated and discarded; only alert history and activity summaries are retained - giving families a useful timeline without building a surveillance record. A personalised behavioural model that learns individual patterns automatically, removing the need for manual threshold configuration, is currently in development.
04 — Apps
Family app and care dashboard
The family mobile app lets relatives receive instant push notifications, browse a daily activity timeline, and check environmental readings from anywhere - multiple family members can follow the same device. The institutional web dashboard connects over WebSocket for live data updates, giving care teams real-time multi-resident oversight, shift-based alert routing, and exportable logs for compliance and reporting. No app or interaction is required from the person being monitored.
