No. Touchseen uses only environmental and motion sensors - ambient light, infrared presence detection, temperature, humidity, and air quality. There are no cameras, microphones, or any audio or video recording of any kind.
Touchseen builds a personalised model of what a normal day looks like for the person being monitored - typical activity levels, sleep patterns, and environmental conditions. When sensor readings deviate from this learned baseline, such as unusually long inactivity or an extreme room temperature, it triggers an alert.
Alerts are sent as push notifications to family members via the Touchseen mobile app. For care organisations, alerts appear on the web dashboard in real time. Multiple people can follow the same device, and alert routing is fully configurable.
The device begins monitoring immediately after being plugged in. The learning phase that builds a personalised activity baseline takes a few days, after which alert accuracy reaches 98% in testing.
Yes, Touchseen is GDPR compliant. Data is processed and stored in the EU using DigitalOcean's Amsterdam data centre. Raw sensor readings are not stored long-term - only alert history and activity summaries are retained.
